About Susannah Mitchell

SUSANNA, child of Thomas & Sarah (Jenny) Pope, was born about 1647. She married Plymouth 7 November 1666 Ensign Jacob Mitchell, son of EXPERIENCE MITCHELL .

Jacob and Susannah (Pope) Mitchell were both slain by King Philp's warriors in July 1675 when, "early in the morning as they were going to the garrison, whiter they had sent their children the afternoon before". This occurred in Dartmouth, Massachusetts. They had three children.

Her brother John Pope and his wife Sarah were also killed as they all were fleeing to the garrison where they had taken their children the day before.
